The Meiji Jingu Shrine was established in 1920. With over 3million visitors, it is the most popular shrine for hatsumode (New Year’s visit to a shrine) in all of Japan. Many events are held through out the year. Its garden is also famous as a power spot.

  • 31st – Jan. 1st The shrine will remain open all night
  • 1st closing at 7PM
  • 2nd – Jan. 3rd open from 6:40AM to 6:30PM (subject to change)

The ‘First Prayer Ceremony’ will be held on 1/1 from 1PM
