Basic Info.

Sumo is one of the most popular Japanese national sports. With a history of 1300 years, it still fascinates spectators from all over the world. Yet, the tickets for sumo matches are pricey, and there are some months where no matches take place. If you happen to visit Japan during one of the off seasons, we recommend visiting a sumo stable where you can observe the morning practice. Anyone who has manners, respects sumo, and can watch quietly, is welcome to observe the morning practice. There is no doubt that watching the sumo wrestlers’ intense training will be an unforgettable experience.
