Basic Info.
Tonkatsu is popular among foreign tourists for its crispy texture. It is made by coating pork with panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) and deep-frying it. Lately, there are also variations like mille-feuille tonkatsu, which is made by layering thinly sliced pork, and beef-katsu, made of beef.
