Basic Info.

Gokokuji Temple was built in 1681 by Tokugawa Tsunayoshi, and is famous for its graves of some of the heroes of the Bakumatsu era (the twilight years of shogunate rule).
Otowa-Fuji, one of the 7 fujizukas (artificial hill constructed in the likeliness of Mt. Fuji) of Tokyo, is located here. Its height (10m) and closeness to the Tokyo Metro Gokokuji Temple Station, makes it a easy-to-climb fujizuka.
